Deposits
Where ore/gem/rock deposits naturally occur, read directly from the game's worldgen rules.
"Depth" and the host-rock list below are the raw worldgen rule the game checks, not a guarantee -- a "near surface" deposit can still occasionally be found deeper, and these are the conditions a chunk must meet, not a promise any single spot within it generates something.

How rock type is determined
Deposits above describe what occurs inside a given rock type -- not how that base rock
type itself ends up at a given spot. That's a separate worldgen rule
(worldgen/rockstrata.json): each rock type is placed by its own layered noise
function, compared against a per-rock threshold, not a simple depth band, climate rule, or
fixed global ordering. genDir says which direction that rock's layer fills from.
