Git merge command generator

Merge several GitHub repos, with full history, into subfolders of one repo. Everything runs in your browser.

Paste URLs in any form (https, git@github.com:, ssh://), one per line or in a markdown list. The first is the destination; the rest are merged into it as subfolders named after each repo.

    Generated commands

    • Each source's default branch is left untouched. The move happens on a new branch.
    • The move shows up as one commit of renames, so use git log --follow on files in the subfolders.
    • Any .github/workflows/ in a source ends up nested and won't run. Move it to the destination's root .github/workflows/.
    • Pushing the move branch is needed so the destination can fetch it from GitHub.
