Text
Half of the combat team is gone.
The very first one was simply devoured alive...
Three of my people were covered in rust and struck by the enormous number of spikes erupting from the portal.
Another of them was apparently afflicted by rot.
We rushed to flee; everything became uncontrollable too quickly.
The cursed rift began to spew rust and age everything around, as if snow were flying through an open window in a blizzard during a restless winter.
...I do not know what awaits me. I locked myself in here and ordered the remaining guardians to protect the remaining people.
It is incredibly bitter for me to write this; I had so hoped that this experiment would give answers to our questions.
Most likely, everyone else evacuated through the sunlit opening in the middle of the scriptorium - I heard the commotion.
My conscience and reason torment me; it seems I will have to remain here forever. I will hardly live a normal life after what I have seen and the responsibility for those we lost.
